What is a RAT Run? RAT stands for Road Anomalies Tour. Run is a ride. So, a RAT Run is a ride to look for Road Anomalies. We're all about riding, and riding with friends, so this is another excuse to ignore domestic responsibilities, make the lawn mower gather more dust, and go riding!
What's that you say?
What is a Road Anomaly?
They are unusual, odd, strange, or generally unexplainable sights that we see while travelling. The Coffee Pot on US60 west of Buena Vista or the giant roller skate in Bealton come to mind. Road signs can sometimes qualify. Like, what the heck does "Big Muskie Bucket,-Exit 25" mean (I-77 OH).
Whether something really is a Road Anomaly is up to the Chief Rat. The sign for the "Big Muskie Bucket" as well as the bucket itself qualifies. The sign for "World's Largest Ball of Twine" would not qualify, but the ball would. If you get a picture of the Tank Crossing signs (Approved Road Anomaly) with a tank actually crossing, you would earn bonus points. It's all in good fun, so we'll be pretty loose with judgments. If you have a dispute, just write it up on the back of a 20 dollar bill, and submit it to the Chief Rat. We'll see what we can do.
Here's how you become a RAT and earn a really cool patch.
I know it sounds complicated, it's really not.
